Letting go of expectations and having fun with cutting loose and tapping into your creativity

Writer: Pixicato PlayPixicato Play

Have you ever wanted to paint and get creative but don't know where to start or think you aren't any good? That's totally me.

I began chatting to some of my artist friends about my secret desire to have a play with painting and drawing, not knowing where to start, and my fear of sucking at it. And the idea of finger painting with water colours came about.

Water colours are cheap, easy to play with and give lots of scope to do cool things. Plus they're easy to clean up (essential when finger painting).

Finger painting was an important part of the experience because it meant I wasn't caught up in any brush techniques and by getting paint on my hands I was literally part of it, in the experience.
